So some folks recently did their best to try and improve this good show/bad recording, they certainly didn't have much to work with but it's a little better. But it got me thinking again, why have we never seen the complete AUD turn up in the digital world? Does anyone have it, or know anyone who does?

There are many older AUDs whose existence wouldn't be suspected, except that they were used as patches in incomplete SBDs, by the big collectors who had everything... Deadlists (and the Taping Compendium) mentions a lot of "circulating" AUDs that don't really circulate anymore; and even back when, only a few people had them.
In today's digital world, the situation is a bit different; it's more like everyone has all of the same things, and things like old AUDs that didn't get transferred to digital are simply nonexistent.
An AUD tended not to circulate & to become scarce & untraded, if there were a competing SBD. Many times it's understandable - a lot of old AUDs were horrible, compared to those pristine '70s boards... Not many people these days would care to listen to a "fair" or merely "listenable" AUD, since quality standards have risen.

I also find it a little odd that the Archive's Dead collection is mainly an archive of the same old sources. I've sometimes heard a nice-sounding AUD patch pop up in a show and wondered, "where's the rest of that?"
If anywhere, you'd think this is where you'd turn to find "the complete 9/23/76 AUD" etc. As it is, I'm not sure there's anywhere to turn, unless an old tape-collector speaks up.

It really is a shame, and something not often talked about. There are quite a few sources where I've heard a patch but never seen the full aud anywhere. They show up once in a while though...I was blown away when the Bertrando aud to 2/26/77 came out, I never knew that one existed.

I'm surprised we still haven't seen a remaster of 9/24/72 since that Moore aud popped up a couple years back. That cut in Rider is as cruelly legendary as say the cuts in 11/1/68. Offhand, there are 3 shows that comne to mind that can be patched but aren't.

The beginning of the Spanish Jam in 7/31/74. The Miller sbd isn't patched, and there are now two good aud's that cover it.

9/24/72 I know you Rider, as previously mentioned.

The Other One, 4/5/71. Just a short bit is missing from the verse, but nonetheless it's patchable with material that is on here.
